I'm still working on the first write-up of the hike. Thanks for being patient....and please stay tuned. In the meantime...allow me to muse upon a glorious event here in OKC that I've anticipated for months...   The promise of free glassware and the anticipation of good beer had my buddy Eric and I in line by 11:15 for the scheduled noon opening.   Menus in hand, we began planning our assault.  Just a few minutes past noon and we are IN!!!  Left: Straight Juice Bro - Brett Pale Ale Center: Madmartigan - Barrell Fermented Dark Sour With Plums Right: Free Glass for getting there early!  Touching Cloth - Imperial Stout with Coconut (11% ABV...WooHoo!!)  Journey Home - Apricot Sour  All of Stonecloud's offerings are very, very good. Between my brews, Eric's fine selections (which I know included the Astrodog IPA, among others), and the communal sampling between complete strangers that often accompanies these types of situations...I'd say we covered most of the menu. So, my quick story about Stonecloud... Months ago I was sitting at Anthem Brewing with my dog (canine...not homie...) at a Humane Society event, and a dude walked in wearing a Stonecloud hat. Knowing full well they were in the early stages of the buildout, I inquired. "Hey man...do you like...work at Stonecloud?" "Uhh...kind of..." "Are you....the dude?" What followed was a pleasant conversation with owner Joel Irby about the upcoming plan. Not only was he very cool then, he took the time to chat with us extensively during the opening event! All the while continuing to monitor the happenings, greet folks, and even bus tables. It was very cool to witness firsthand his masterpiece coming to life. Kudos to Joel and ALL the staff at Stonecloud Brewing! I assure you...I'll be a frequent flyer.  I guess if you drink enough beer...and there are enough cameras...you make the instagram feed!
