As a start - many thanks to those who have fallen in the line of duty so that we can enjoy our country and the freedoms it carries. Lest we forget.
There is a way to ride a big loop around OKC on a bicycle. So today, my friend David and I did just that. It's a regular route for him, so I said, "Lead the way."
We met downtown at our church and took off east to catch the Katy Trail.
Once there, we shot north towards the OKC Zoo. We made our way west and eventually ended up at Lake Hefner. From Hefner, we headed south around Wiley Post airport to Lake Overholser.
At the south end of Overholser, we picked up another bike trail and wound our way around to the Oklahoma River Trail. This took us into downtown OKC and back to the church.
43 miles in about 2 hours 45 minutes. Not a bad way to start the day.
After returning home and grabbing lunch....I mowed the yard. Not exciting, but still an opportunity to be outside!
Then it was time to wash the nasty off my dog. She's needed a bath for a couple of weeks so we got to it today. I like to wash her in the driveway as there is no cleanup. Again...uneventful, but at least outside!
She doesn't love a bath, but she tolerates it.
Next it was back downtown to finally check out the whitewater park! I signed up for the whitewater rafting trip at 3:15 and had a blast! I'm really looking forward to using this facility as frequently as possible.
This was post-rafting. Obviously I didn't take any photos from the raft itself. It's pretty intense and our guide Patrick was on point. Good times were had all around!
All that outdoor time calls for a celebration!
Where else....but outdoors!
